They did drop the price last month to the same thing showing in the link; $1649.99. It was too much for me to resist.

Wow pretty nice. The case looks awesome! 70 years and still going strong they must be doing something right.

Don't need the case. Are the aluminum gimbals significantly different in feel then the 18SZ?

Does this radio have aluminum sticks or not the picture above looks like plastic.

Power supply: 6.0V HT5F1800B MiMH Battery. What does this mean? Info confusing.

The one pic I believe is a regular 18SZ, the Anniversary one is pretty dark, looks like the finish on an 18MZ WC radio. Also the Anniversary 18SZ is the only radio I'm aware of from Futaba that has metal gimbals. You don't even get those with an 18MZ WC.

Man, I've been looking since I first posted this and I cannot find a chemistry that uses "MiMH" for short. There are Manganese and Magnesium Oxide batteries but as far as I can tell, the Magnesium Oxide is mixed with Lithium making batteries using this chemistry considered to be "Lithium Ion". As for the other info, I believe that means it's an 1800 mah battery capacity of whatever chemistry it is....

Pretty much sure it's a typo. Should have been "NiMH".

They're aluminum gymbals. Newer and better than the standard 18SZ. The standard 18SZ and 18MZ share the same gymbals.

It's probably a typo. Similar to the standard 18SZ, it comes with an 2100 LiFe pack. Maybe the power supply description was meant for the charger of the NiMH (Similar to the one in the 16SZ).

The 18SZ Anniv. Edition is in a gun metal chrome finish. It's actually annoying as you can see all your fingerprints all over it. But it's the new gymbals that are the highlight of this radio.

See my post directly above this one. The webmeisters had garbled up some info. It has been corrected. The information in the OP for this thread uses that garbled info.

Well if it's a typo, Futaba's got a bunch of them on their website. That's the only reason I tried chasing it down. Check out this Google search, basically every radio on the search result is a Futaba with a MiMH battery.....
