U Can Do 60 with DLE 20!

Have a DLE 20 on the shelf that needs a home. I've decided on a U Can Do, but don't know which one. Is the 60 or SF a better match? Thanks

Thanks! I think that's the one I'm going to get on the way.

On the cowl, I'm going to try and find some thing like an MX to use. It will fly with out one for a while though. I am planning on using the engine mount that comes with the kit as well. Still trying to figure out what I want to use for pushrods. I'm installing the stock ones on the ailerons for now, and have some turnbuckle style for the elevators. I'm probably going to change out the stock aileron pushrods for 4-40's at some point. Just don't have anything right now. Wish they would have moved the servos closer to the control surface! Thanks for the heads up!!

Every thing came packed really well. The box even had some light ply doublers for added protection during shipping. Nothin like the smell of fresh plastic and cardboard!!

Finally got some time to post on the build. I got the wing completed. Ailerons are glued, control linkages installed. Used my programmer to set the horns as close to 90 as possible. Once the servos were mounted, I pulled them and added some thin CA to the holes for better bite, and re-installed. Cut the wing bolts down by 1/2 inch and rounded the ends. So far so good. The covering seems to loosen up after a while though.

Before I cumbered up the fuse with the tail pieces, I wanted to get the engine mounted up. I had to re-drill a couple of the engine mount holes, as they did not line up very well with the mount. I went with the inverted option, as I was planning on mounting the engine sideways because it's not a rear exhaust. Inverted was still the way to go.

After an hour or so of trying to use the stock throttle pushrod, I junked it. Spent the next while digging through all my old supplies and finally found a solution I'm happy with . Zero binding and smooth.

Ok, I've got a lot of pics to resize and post, so I'll start with the tailwheel. I don't like tailwheels that hinge into the rudder, so I'm using an older system I had lying around. I added a lite ply mount and sealed it with thinned epoxy,

The stab was also about an 1/4" off of plane with the wing, so I did some sanding and also used medium ca to build up the low side a little, until the stab was true with the wing.
