Definitely not seized, this engine stopped rotating instantly. The undamaged jug and piston is pristine. The other piston is loose and will move about 1/4" back and forth and will twist a bit too. It is locked in the jug by either the broken ring or wrist pin snap ring sticking out into one of the intake ports. . Either way it wont come out.

Gotcha this is where is where my question was going Pin sounds pretty probable, The questions is what did it happen ....?

nobody said it was but DA is a stand up company. and they do have something with the cranks twisting. not that it happens with all the twins, but it does happen just saying. dont take it so personal dude

It would be interesting to know just what did let go.Not to blame but what happen.I had a DA50 and the cylinder base bolts let loose.They used the crank and cases,carb,reed block,everything else was new.They pick the bill up,you never know till they take a look at it.

The techs at DA will be able to tell you what the issue was , amazing service from the whole DA personal in Tucson . If things don’t work for you a have brother engine from the year , I would be willing to sell you .����

Got a call today from DA, they are repairing the complete engine under warranty even though it's been out of warranty for over 3 years. Cant say enough good things about DA and their service!
