Awesome Kits = Awesome Planes

With the current situation of many in our nation having to stay at home it occurred to me that it is the perfect time to do something in your RC shop. The first thing that came to my mind was building a kit. I got ahold of Mean Joe Vermillion and we jumped on a live video to go over the best first kit to build, building techniques and the most awesome kit you could build.

Watch the video...

Ive been working on one for a couple years - 1/4 Dr.I heavily modified with Glenn Torrance parts, custom landing gear, scratch built cockpit and a DA35 for power using a Bisson custom fab muffler.

They really are a TON of fun, especially if you modify and add a lot of scale detail. Most of them fly like big trainers too.

Just so happens... I am on a BUSA 1/4 Cub

Just retired - first build from a stick kit in 30 years and loving it. Will be a typical cub build but converted to a 30cc 12 cell electric and floats. Will fly off my dock in SC without alarming the locals. I normally fly Edge and Laser. A Cub on floats.....

It is possible to build quickly in retirement. About a month - here and there - in the picture to complete the Fuse. Virus - go away!

I am building a BUSA Fly Baby Bipe right now. This is a fun build and should turn out to be a very nice plane. Power will be a DLE 35RA which should make it fly scale like. The only problem is that it is not my airplane. I am building it for one of my flying buddies.

Mean Joe:

I sent you an email concerning a snag I have run into on the Fly Baby Bipe with my phone number. Please give me a call. I am at a standstill till I figure this out.

Thanks

Just picked up a 1/4 Scale Fokker D-VII Kit from my buddy. We are just now getting the dreaded COVID-19 virus. I may or may not have to shelter in place. If I do maybe I can start on this kit.
