Drilling a 3 blade prop?

Hi All,

How should a 3 blade prop be clocked on a gas engine with respect to the compression stroke? I’m about to drill a couple of props for a DLE-55, so I want to get this right!

Thanks,

John

However your preference dictates for ease of cranking the engine.

I drill it so one blade is set just like a 2-blade prop. I like 1:30 O'clock to start compression and finish around 11:30 or so .

Exactly. I'd do it just like a two blade prop.

Think of it this way - you can only throw one blade at a time. In which clock position would you like that blade? Drill.
