Sure is a fun plane! It would be a killer combo with the GP38!! There is insane power with the DLE55RA, it's a lot of fun but I need 6oz of weight in the tail to get my CG to 5". Almost makes me want to try and do some stupid stuff with my Timber so I can get a replacement air frame cheap LOL!!

I've made a few videos of this plane.....
Timber 110 Big Tires Breezy Beach (4 min 45 sec)

Hangar 9 Timber 110" STOL Beach Flying (5 min 1 sec)

110" Timber DLE55 Second Flight (4 min 52 sec)

110" Timber DLE-55RA #2 (4 min 40 sec)

But it would look cool hanging out on each side. I just ordered one and it will have a twin for power...

I'll think about one when they get off their asses and find a place to get 1/4 scale floats for it and the Valiant.

Agree on the floats. I will be building a BUSA set I guess.

I tried to go with a twin. Just couldn't get a good look without a revamp of the cowl. Just too lazy for that.

I wish there were specs on the float kits they have. Not sure if the 1/4 or 1/3 scale would be better. I have a couple of sets of 30cc Avistar floats but they fall a few inches short of 80% of the fuse length. If I remember correctly they would be ideal around 54-56".

I'm going to opt for one of the following motors that I have on hand:

1. Saito FA-270 with a gas conversion (approx. 45cc)
2. CRRC GF55 twin
3. DLA-64 inline twin (this would be interesting)

If I'm not happy with the fit, the I will default to;

1. DLE 55
2. DA 50

I would really like to get the FA-270 to work as its an opposed firing 4 cycle twin, it would sound really nice and should be a good match for the airframe. Yes, I know I will need to cut the cowl, but I'm very symmetrical so the cylinders hanging out on each side appeals to me.

Will do, I'm pushing for the FA-270. Once the airframe gets here, I will breakout the tape measure and dremel!!
