Triple Tree 2021

From Triple Tree

We sure do miss seeing everyone. With the rollout of vaccines, there is hope on the horizon. It's up to each of us to continue to do our part. To tide us over, we wanted to share the many exciting things that have happened at Triple Tree and will happen in the future!

Recently we received some great publicity from AVI Nation magazine. This article was the feature article for their Spring 2021 magazine. You can read the article by clicking here https://tta.aero/wp-content/uploads/...Avi-Nation.pdf

We are also proud to share our 2020 impact report. This report is a wrap-up of the 2020 season. The report can be viewed here https://tta.aero/wp-content/uploads/...act-Report.pdf

In looking towards the future, Triple Tree recently made the difficult but correct decision to cancel the 2021 Joe Nall. These events involved thousands of our friends from across the globe and included numerous activities where proximity to others just couldn't be avoided. With our Fall 2020 Camp and Fly events' success, we received multiple requests to repeat those small-size events for the Spring of 2021 for our Radio Control Community.

Although we can never replace the festive atmosphere of Joe Nall Week, we can all responsibly enjoy this unique opportunity to enjoy Triple Tree and look forward to our 2021 Fall series of events. We have determined that we can open Triple Tree for fundraisers for a limited number of campsites in the Spring of 2021.

The weeks are as follows:

  • April 12-18
  • April 19-25
  • May 17-23

As of right now, these weeks are designated for our Radio Control Community. If these weeks are successful, we will plan on hosting additional fundraising event weeks in 2021 for both Radio Control and General Aviation.

These fundraising events went on sale on March 15, 2021, and will have limited capacity, and we will not be able to accommodate any walk-ins. Please visit our website, https://www.tta.aero/donate/ for information on how to reserve your campsite through Eventbrite!

These events will be just like the events we had in the Fall of 2020. The events are still intended for members of the aviation community and slightly different from our traditional events. We will not have meals, speakers, demos, or vendors. These fundraising events are intended to allow our aviation friends an opportunity to attend Triple Tree and look forward to the Fall events.

The suggested donation price varies between $400 for dry camping to $600 for premium camping for the week. (To help with our attendance reporting, we ask no more than 2 adults per campsite, this does not include children under 18. We will need a small number of volunteers to serve as campsite hosts to stay on property for the week. There will be minimal contact with the public but you will be onsite to help with any questions that may pop up during the week.

Speaking of the Fall, we want to have everyone mark their calendars now for the 2021 Fall events:

  • Triple Tree Fly-In September 20-26, 2021
  • Nall in the Fall October 2-9, 2021

Till then, stay well and we will keep everyone updated on what's going on at Triple Tree!

The CDC states that there is no need for social distancing and masks if all parties have had 2 COVID vaccines and are at least 2 weeks post 2nd injection. Why doesn't Joe Nall require vaccination cards to prove the participants have been vaccinated. None the less, I can't wait until Joe Nall opens again.

Who wants to go to an event where just an elite few turn up who satisfy those conditions and the rest stay at home being envious and resentful?

Who wants to run an event where just a small percentage of regular visitors are allowed to attend and will have to be run at a massive loss?

In my view that would be for TTA staff to decide.

Nitpick but its HIPAA....

The idea of "vacinnation cards" has been floated but there is a lot of controversy over them. Its not just HIPAA, there are big groups who feel its a fundamentally unconstitutional invasion of privacy.

The other problem is there isn't yet conclusive evidence that getting vaccinated prevents people from being a silent carrier and spreading the disease. All we know for sure is the vaccines lessen or eliminate symptoms.

I agree 100% with privacy for Medical records - HIPAA. It's not political. Imagine the slippery slope of medical based restrictions on your life. Pilots have restrictions for obvious reasons but....

Can't fly 3D at a sanctioned event - you have high blood pressure. Insurance.... This will end up at the Supreme Court.

In the mean time - delaying Nall to the Fall - should logically put this to bed. Yes Logically.

First, itís a personal decision to get vaccinated. I donít want to debate the effectiveness of the vaccine. Time will tell I guess for those people who choose to get it. The 1 thing I am sure of is I personally do not any organization dictating how personal businesses operate. We all can make a choice to go or not to go to an event or business that requires a vaccine. I am not saying TTA should require vaccines what I am trying to say is I feel it should be there choice. TTA already has rules and regulations that we must all follow or we will not be allowed in or asked to leave. I am probably missing the big picture but maybe not.

Since Joe Nall is a private event in a sense, it's not a HIPPA violation for them to require or ask for proof of vaccination.

It may be open to the public, but they can require anything they want. Same way I've been to the event and seen children under 17 operating motor vehicles. It's private property.

They aren't forcing you to attend nor are they forcing you to get vaccinated. If they want to say "hey wanna come and fly/camp/spectate? Just show us proof of vaccination" that's their prerogative.

To go or not to go is “your” prerogative.

As it should be. Just publish the parameters.
