Triple Tree Update

These past 18 months have been challenging, and we are excited to welcome everyone back to the Home of Fun, Fellowship, and Hospitality.

Please take a moment and mark your calendar for the following dates when we will open online registration for our 2021 Fall Series of events.

  • Nall in the Fall June 9, 2021, at 10 am EST*
  • Heli Extravaganza June 15, 2021, at 10 am EST

(Registration will be open for pilots, spectators, meals, and camping as well.)

If you are a returning camper for 2021 Nall in the Fall and have not yet communicated that you wish to return in 2021, please email [email protected] with your name and space number from 2019 Nall in the Fall BEFORE June 7, 2021, at 10 am EST.

2021 Nall in the Fall Premium Camping registration for non-returners will be open on June 9, 2021, on Eventbrite. This is a separate link and log in and can be found at https://2021nitfpc.eventbrite.com

Even though we have been finically challenged during these past 18 months, the Triple Tree Aerodrome has still provided world-class educational opportunities for young men and women. Some of these programs include:

  • The completion of our 85% scale J-3 Cub Radio Control Airplane project
  • The 1st ever ACE General Aviation Scholarships
  • The 2nd graduation class for the ACE Radio Control Program
  • Continued partnerships with the University of South Carolina Capstone Classes
  • BenFlies.com where our own 18-year-old Ben Templeton will be flying the Triple Tree J3 Cub to 48 states over the summer.

In addition to these educational programs, we have made significant upgrades to our facility, including:

  • 16 new Premium Campsites at the Main Line (Towards the approach end of Runway 21 by the Gazebo)
  • 16 new Premium Campsites across Lake Montana
  • New roads at the southern part of our property
  • The completion of an erosion control project at our Southern boundary.

Triple Tree continues to have daily expenses with the upkeep of our 400-acre facility. Including mower repair, fuel, electricity, and fertilizer to ensure that the Triple Tree Aerodrome is as beautiful as you remember it! We rely on generosity like yours to help continue and preserve Mr. Pat's vision and be a welcome escape for so many in our aviation family.

If you have already donated, thank you. If you are considering a donation, please visit https://triple-tree-aerodrome-inc.square.site/ for how you can contribute to fulfilling our mission to ignite and expand the passion for aviation!

It means the world to us to have you back at Triple Tree. Simply put, you are some of our favorite people in the world! Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, fellowship, and laughter. We are anxious to have you back at your home, the Triple Tree Aerodrome.

Can we let people down earlier on Friday than last time? In May it’s fine going down at 5pm as you have plenty of day light to setup camp sunset at 8:30. But in October it was hard as you only have 1 1/2 hrs to sundown.

All packed up and ready to head out tomorrow morning.
I was thinking of bringing my 41% Pitts M12 to go along with the 2 Mambaís but itís not quite done (paint) and Iíd have to scratch my noodle on how to get all three in!
We are really looking forward to some down time and getting back to flying!

Gotta leave room for something new. I’ll be visiting the Flex Innovations tent to look at a TV jet. But don’t tell the wife!

Sure there are pics! I posted some on my FB page but with it being down most of the day it wasnít viewable until after the fact!
We came in Thursday around noon and have flown & spotted quite a bit. That said, until yesterday evening it was no problem in getting your plane in the air. About 8pm last night it started raining with no high winds. This morning was ok and a few planes were up. About 11am it started raining and it kept doing that on & off all afternoon with the heaviest rainfall noon til 2. The Horizon boys showed up and had an electric Bronco up in the light part of the rain. Later this afternoon folks were up with their planes & jets and the Extreme Flight folks had their big Turbo Bushmaster up doing low & slow maneuvers. All that is at the main flight line but the 3D and electric lines had similar activity. There is also moderate activity on the lake both day and night flying.
Our dog, Gretchen, has had a great time checking everything out!

I am here, pretty low key. Not nearly as many in attendance as the spring Nall. Weather was nice until last night when it poured rain. It was ok this morning until 1pm and the rains returned. Rained for a few hours and then stopped. The weather for the rest of the week looks terrible though. Anywhere from 70%-100% chance of rain everyday. Calling for an inch of rain overnight tonight. Everything is just wet…..

It was great while I was there, left Wednesday because of rain. Not many venders there but flex was handy when I needed a set of floats

It was really bright despite the spoiled weather! There were so many interesting activities - receiving scholarships and showing the University of South Carolina training courses. I saw some of them at https://edubirdie.com/custom-research-paper when I was studying the base of scientific papers. For me, it was the best educational event I have ever attended, as well as a great opportunity to escape from the routine and relax a little.
