One Step Closer to Flying Cars

We are one step closer to having flying cars as a reality. On June 28th, an AirCar prototype made its 142nd landing, completing a journey from the international airport in Nitra to the international airport in Bratislava. The 35 minute flight was uneventful. After landing, the AirCar transformed, at the press of a button, to a car in under 3 minutes and drove off to downtown Bratislava.

This key milestone flight proves the viability of the flying car and puts creator Klein Vision closer to production and sales on the amazing AirCar. Watch the video below to the AirCar's inter-city flight.

Very cool but the usefulness is questionable. In order to really be feasible for travel you would still need to be instrument rated. Plus you have to first drive too and from an airport which you do anyway if you own a Bonanza etc.

Still Iím surprised itís taken this long to get this far with one.

Just gets rid of the need for a rental car.

Pocket change...making $ense of this is the least of what some buyers will think about...
Its all about conspicuous consumption, enjoying the adventure and how cool they will look.
I would own one but I just am not into 4 wheeled landing gear, NOT fuel efficient!!!

Seems to me that anything that can fly would be unlikely to pass U.S. safety standards for motor vehicles. Those safety standards have added quite a bit of weight to our cars.

Same thing that killed the original motorcar will come out and do the same thing to the new version.. too many auto safety requirements on the ground to meet..

I remember seeing one these years ago. They actually had passed faa certification but ran out of money before they could make production. It was a cool plane. I have a picture of it somewhere.

I have no interest in this. I’m sure it is a mediocre car and a mediocre airplane. I’d rather fly a 172 and get a rental car wherever I land.

An R/C version would be cool to play around with. Might have to build my own R/C version of a flying car someday just cause.
