TOC-2 The Invitational Event June 2022

The Invitational is an attempt to re-create the grandfather of all RC Aerobatic Competitions

Splash

Tournament of Champions

The Invitational is an attempt to re-create the grandfather of all RC Aerobatic Competitions. The original TOC was held in Las Vegas and was the brainchild of Mr. Bennett of Circus Circus, Sahara and Excalibur Casinos. It was also a dream of John and Tina Schroder of CloverCreek Aerodrome to recreate it and our mission is to try and fulfill their dream, and honor John's memory.

Format: The competition consists of 20 of the best RC pilots in the world, which are selected by committee. 10 from the United States, and 10 from around the world (International).

They will be required to fly Aerobatic Sequences provided by the event, as well as FreeStyle flights of their own creation flown to music.

This event is one you won't see very often, so make plans to attend and watch some of the best in the world take home the crown! Event takes place on June 2-5, 2022.

Looking forward to it. Should be a great event!

I went to the last TOC in 2002. Don Szczur was one of the contestants.... Fun to see his son Joseph flying in this event 20 years later (and making me feel old...).

That's what I was thinking too, but who knows what all had to go into the "invite, accept" process. Like can I make it there, afford to go, etc.

Gernot was on the list, but I think he had other obligations.

Thanks for helping spread the word Jason!

The Invitational Staff is looking forward to June, and seeing some of the best in the world competing again. We've been trying to recreate the prestige and class, which was once the TOC. Fitting, it's coming around on the 20th anniversary of the end of what started it all.

We hope to see everyone in June. Come and support/cheer on your favorites.

Mike, like a lot of the prior competitors have passed on aerobatic competitions in recent years. Most have been asked!

So, this is a professional event. It will take a hefty sum of cash to attract any of the pros from Europe, Australia, Japan, and South America.
The cost of getting to the event with a plane is awesome, not to mention the time away from work, hotel and living expenses.
At the last Don Lowe Masters, I believe the Purse paid all the way back to eight places.
