The New 43% PAU EDGE 540T

I've finally got the chance to start on the replacement for my old beloved PAU 43% Edge. I had that plane for many years but finally met it's demise at Joe Nall last year. So in tribute, heres a couple of photo's of her last flight before I get started.

So on to the new one!

Unboxed her today and it looks great. Here's a couple of photos out of the box and the internal structure of the fuse. Plenty of room for can or pipes. I my case, I am sticking with my old trusty Desert Aircraft 150 on cans.

I forgot to mention that this aircraft is setup for the DA-200 as well and includes an extra firewall for it.

Also another new feature, split cowl. This is a really nice feature if using a DA-200 or just simply setting up a great baffling setup. Had more pics but they were blurry, I will take more later on.

Nice! So many planes and so few dollars...

I love the new upgrades on the whole line up of the new PAU planes.

Now the new tail wheel assembly! I've ordered many a carbon fiber assembly from various mfg's over the years, all in the interest in saving weight. I always found it amusing that they all came with a chunk of lead for a tail wheel so I'd end up on the hunt for a light wheel for it. I often asked myself what the heck were they thinking?

Well our new assembly is much lighter than before and even comes with a super light wheel. Blind nuts are already installed in the fuse, just open the covering and install.

The new 150cc Edge 540T version looks great in the air.
The 540 single seat (red) will look great too!
The new shipment is on its way, scheduled to arrive at the warehouse by the end of next week.

Funny you mention that. When they both arrived at the warehouse I opened both the 540 and 540T. I thought I was going to go with the blue one but when I seen the red I had to go home and sleep on it to figure out which one to build. I remembered my 120cc being red so I stayed with the blue but I did lose sleep thinking about it. That red scheme is hot!

Some more photo's and such. Got it on it feet. Again we used air-foiled carbon fiber landing gear which is pretty standard for us now. Put together the cowl using the supplied bolts and set it on the fuse. Herve and I talked and Herve is going to supply aluminum button heads for the production kits. I'll be adding those to mine before I am done.
