Raven 30cc from Skyline Rc.

Hello all,

Building pics of the Raven 30cc from Skyline Rc. I bought it from General Hobby. It was on sale at $ 259.00 usd.. Shipped by USPS total cost to my door $ 316.00 cdn.

After inspecting it, all is the very same as EG's Raven exept of the alu. landing gear.

Very well packed, no damage at all. Quality hardward.

1-epoxied in the control hornes and hinges on elevator and rudder... and drilled the holes for engine stand off.. so far so good!!

2-Some more work done on the Raven.. Pull Pull wires and servo installed, blind nuts for the engine standoffs...

3-Installed tail Wheel..

4-Landing gear, Wheel pants installed....

The only thing i don't like about this arf, is the aluminum land gear... I will probably swipe those for graphtech's CF.... The Wheel pants, won't be on it for long lolllllllllll

5-Elevator servos installed...

6-Ailrons servos installed and adjusted, intstalled cdi, more to come...

7-installed kill switch, progressing.

8-Some more work done on the Raven.

1- installed gas tank, plumped and barbed. used Viton gas tubbing .
2- installed dual miracle switch with fuel dot. inverted installation, due to a lack a space .
3- epoxied in place the throttel servo tray, installed the throttle servo.
4- electronic wires installed and all secured..

Looks nice and you got a great price too. I have read some bad things on the forums about General Hobby, such as, "My plane came in the wrong color" and "My plane was damaged and no one will answer my emails."

When you state that it is the same plane as EG except for the landing gear are you comparing those side-by-side? That would be very good information if that is the case. EGs cost quite a bit more as a rule. If only the landing gear is different that is minimal cost addition to correct and you are still in a fantastic savings range.

Luchina, I had an EG 2 months ago ( white n blue scheme ) and the Skyline is the very same except the alu. landing gear.

Spec of EG's http://www.egaircraft.com/products.php?sort=14&id=32
SPECIFICATIONS
Scale: 25%
Wing Span: 74” (1880mm)
Length:Including spinner 69”(1750mm)
Wing Area:1029 in²(66.4 dm²)
Flying Weight:9.9 to 11.2 lbs(4.5-5.1kg)

Skyline's Specs http://skyline-rc.com/categiries_det...id=293&N=RAVEN

SPECIFICATION:The wingspan: 74 "(1880 mm)
Captain: 69 "(1750 mm)
Wing area: 1029 in 2 (66.4 dm 2)
Weight: 9.9 to 11.2 LBS (4.5-5.1 kg)
OARS cover: 3 inches (76 mm

I know that EG's covering is Oracover,(very good ) and that Skyline's states Oars cover !!!!

Is Oars cover chineese ???? i haven't got a clue...

The rest is the very same.

Before ordering, i sent an email asking for a shipping quote, they replied the next day with a price of 56.00 all included. Passed the order, on the very same day they have emailled me the USPS tracking number ( shipped priority mail ) from their facility to my place Montréal, Canada 1-1/2 week. received in perfect condition. Total cost to my door $316.00.

Hope this helps you Luchina.

My Raven came on Saturday but the manual wasn't on the cd. Does anyone know if it's posted online of of I can download a copy of it from somewhere r someone? I've been assembling it and need to know some things like the control throws and specifically the center of gravity. I try to shift things around to avoid adding weight. I'm very impressed with the quality of the build and this is the first arf I've ever had without a single wrinkle

For all of GoldWing, EG, Skyline-rc, ... planes, CG is where the wing tube is.

FGMember,

Thanks for the link. Did you move your cg back to the wing tube? Popsy, the cg is 4-1/8" from the leading edge and move it back as you get used to the plane.

Chillybee, I don't have that plane. What I said was generally about those designs. I usually balance my planes with flying. Means move the battery back and forth or put some weight in the back (I like them tail heavy) and see if it flies better! But cg at wing tube is a good place to start.
