*AJ Aircraft 93" Laser 230z*

Just found out that AJ Aircraft has received the new 93" Laser 230z and they will be shipping on 1/19/15. As soon as I receive mine I'll post pictures of how it was packaged, content inside, and overall impression of the plane. I'm still not sure if I'll be using the EME 70cc Twin or if I'm going electric once again. Probably going to use the Savox SC-1256TG servos. I'll know more once I do a dry fit and see how it looks. I'll make up my mind at that point.

Should be a most fabulous airframe, I want one too! I suggest you put a DA60 on it. I wouldn't do bigger than a 30cc plane electric myself. High cost, short flight duration, and a lot of electricity to recharge.

The 93" Laser 230z was designed around the DA-70 twin. I currently have a Red Wing RC 50cc Slick 540 running 12s spinning a 24X10 Xoar prop. Awesome power.

I like to think in ounces and cc's, not amps, watts, kv's, 45C's.

It's all about having fun and what you like to fly. I run gas and electric and both are great.

I've bought a lot of planes in the last 4-5 years, but the 93" will be my most anticipated one.

I plan on buying one eventually, definitely the most unique looking plane put out in a long time.

There's very limited stock of the 93s since most are going to pre-orders, so order one asap if you're thinking about it. But more will come of course.

the cost though....INSANE price for a 50cc airframe compared to the rest of the Balsa produced market of planes.

Yeah I have to agree that's exactly what I thought. But, this airframe was designed around the DA-70 twin so it's not your standard 50cc size airframe. I'm hoping it's a lot bigger. If not then I paid a lot of money for a 50cc size plane. We'll see when it hits my doorstep hopefully late next week.

You can't really call this a 50cc sized airplane, these new 70cc sized birds are nearly the same size as the 100cc's we were flying 4 years ago. With that in mind and with what the airplane comes with Id say the price is more than fair.

Well I dont think the crap padded bubble wrap style wing bags can count for much...other than that the hardware isnt much different than anyone else.

Whats in in the box that differs from any other ARF manufacturer?
EF sells same size airplane for $100 less...
Even 3DHS is cheaper and they are higher than everyone else in the market.
I will say that their shipping is more affordable than most, so if you want to argue that point....that one I'll give you.
If you want to say they are higher because its a newer startup, MAYBE ill give that to you as well.
93" Laser is STILL in the 50cc class despite the engine it was "designed" around. If you try tell me a 55-60cc engine cant have unlimited vertical and pull out in an 18-20lb airplane you are just crazy.

So please dont try to fluff the "what it comes with" part to justify the price, cause the wing bags are crap and never last.

With that said I might own one some day, heck I even can have local pickup so it makes it a little more enticing.

Boggintuff,

Sorry that you feel so strongly on our pricing, I can assure you we set the price to the lowest possible we can and still maintain some profit margins in this. As far as size goes I guess you have not seen this model. When the 89" slick came out it was big for it's size. This model is even bigger than the 89" slick by a fair amount. I wanted to create a plane that the DA-70 fit into and this model had to grow in order to make that happen.

The 93" laser is much larger then a traditional 50cc airframe and should not really be compared to one. Andrew and his family have worked very hard to offer a great flying airplane that meets Andrew's high standards.

Boggintuff, I am sorry but every time someone lists something nice about one of Aj aircrafts new airplanes you come in and have to say something negative and especially when you have no experience with the aircraft. Seriously go troll some other forum.
