Hitec finally put out a receiver that outputs the serial info; Maxima SL, so I think that means the 9X should be fine if using that receiver.

The X10+ was designed for large foam jets. It's laid out like a traditional top pin receiver. I designed the X24 for my turbine jets, with the pinouts to be logically based on the positions of the control surfaces. Of course, I have had valuable feedback from several serious flyers in the giant scale crowd... so, things like the ignition BEC and switchable power inputs were added. You can all thank theKM for his constant pestering over the last year that twisted the features of this product to be what they are today.

Yep, Hitec's new receivers have SBUS outputs.

On the ignition BEC, do you just assign it to a channel like gear or similar, and will it be a kill switch? Isolated so no ignition interference? Sorry if I'm not understanding correctly, but sounds as if we can eliminate using something like a TechAero BEC, right?

correct. assign channel, and even select the voltage you want it to have. can also be used to drive things like LED's, but is also isolated to protect the system. there are two outputs that can do this, so it can power a DA200, or have landing lights on your single ignition gasser...

As for the Aurora 9.......just replace the external RF module with a "XPS" RF module & you can then use the entire line of "XPS" RX's & channel expander.........been using this since the Aurora 9 release.......love it!

part of the stabilization add-on, magnetometers help keep all that orientation business nice and accurate without drift, etc. essentially a multi-axis compass.

The more I read about this , the more interested I am in getting one. How much is the Pro going to go for? What are the approximate dimensions of the box?
